About AEI
The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is a public policy think tank dedicated to defending human dignity, expanding human potential, and building a freer and safer world. The work of scholars and staff advances ideas rooted in the belief in democracy, free enterprise, American strength and global leadership, solidarity with those at the periphery of our society, and a pluralistic, entrepreneurial culture.
About the Role
AEI seeks a full-time, in-person Coalitions Manager to lead outreach efforts that engage state and federal leaders with AEI scholars and their work to advance the mission of AEI. The manager will be responsible for delivering scholar-led outreach priorities and large-scale Coalitions programs that aim to affect real-world policy change.
Day-to-day responsibilities include relationship-building, personnel management, event planning and promotion, metrics tracking and reporting, and designing and delivering outreach strategies that cultivate external engagement around AEI’s work in Washington, DC, and across the country. These responsibilities require excellent interpersonal skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, attention to detail, and very strong writing and communication skills; the ability to work on multiple projects at once, often under tight deadlines; and an ability to work closely in a team environment while independently managing multiple assignments.

The position will interface regularly with scholars, other internal stakeholders, and external stakeholders in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. This role requires domestic travel approximately one to five times a quarter for meetings, conferences, and events, as well as occasional attendance at internal and external events in the evenings. This position will report to the Director, Coalitions. The anticipated start date is as soon as possible.
