Overview

The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is a public policy think tank dedicated to defending human dignity, expanding human potential, and building a freer and safer world. The work of scholars and staff advances ideas rooted in the belief in democracy, free enterprise, American strength and global leadership, solidarity with those at the periphery of our society, and a pluralistic, entrepreneurial culture.

AEI seeks a full-time, in-person Coalitions Manager to identify, educate, inspire, and connect state and federal leaders in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors with AEI scholars and their work to advance the mission of AEI. The manager will be responsible for delivering scholar-led outreach initiatives and large-scale Coalitions programs that aim to affect real-world change.

The ideal candidate will have at least four to six years of experience in a relevant field and thrive in an intellectual, creative, fast-paced, and detail-oriented environment. You are passionate about AEI’s mission and are familiar with public policy. Day-to-day responsibilities include strategic planning, personnel management, event planning and promotion, marketing and outreach, database management, and designing and delivering innovative programming for Coalitions initiatives. These responsibilities require excellent interpersonal skills, creativity, attention to detail, and very strong writing and communication skills; the ability to work on multiple projects at once, often under tight deadlines; and an ability to work closely in a team environment while independently managing multiple assignments.

The position will interface regularly with scholars, other internal stakeholders, and members of the broader AEI community. This position will report to the Director, Coalitions. This role will include occasional domestic travel, approximately one to five times a quarter, and require attendance at periodic internal and external events in the evenings and on weekends. The anticipated start date is as soon as possible.
